Hospital Negligence in Breast Cancer case

I saw this story on BBC News, and just had to blog about it — it touched me that deeply. It appears that the guys wife contracted breast cancer after working for the NHS for 34 years.

The hospital negligence came about when the trust (Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust) failed to imform her fully that she might have breast cancer and subsequently failed to send her for a second biopsy (although the court hasn’t decided whether that would’ve caught the cancer or not.)

Anyway she died (sadly) partway through the proceedings, so her husband (a nuclear engineer) took up the fight for justice and thankfully won.
